A Hoop House at Sunny Hill Farm

On Wednesday, April 6, “The Tennessee Dirtgirl” and I visited with Megan Southerland of Sunny Hill Farm in Greene County, Tennessee. They have an impressive operation, but I was even more impressed by Megan herself. She is extremely knowledgeable about agriculture in general and in particular, the benefits of regenerative agriculture practices. It was also very easy to tell that she has a deep passion for agriculture and for advocating for agriculture in our area, state, and country.

I was also very impressed with the hoop houses at Sunny Hill Farm and the amount of vegetable plants they are able to produce in them. The setup of these hoop houses is something that could easily be replicated and I plan on implementing some of the information and techniques I learned during our visit to improve the quality and amount of produce grown on the Farm Campus. I will be visiting Megan to learn more in the near future!
