Six to Sixty-plus … We Have Your Raised Garden Beds Waiting

The Working Farm Campus is for You!

The raised beds were designed for you to create your garden
The “Working” Farm Campus project/endeavor is much deeper than growing vegetables, canning vegetables, South Poll momma cows and their babies, South Poll steers being raised for grass-fed beef, Freedom Ranger chickens in “chicken tractors, sheep, and lambs.

We are all about soil health education and helping with human health
The very reason for the existence of it is for education and access to our local community, and to make a growing space available to any who would like to grow, whether it be vegetables, or flowers, for their use. We’ve built twelve raised beds that are ready for gardeners, no matter the age. As young as 6 (accompanied by a parent, of course), and as old as 60 and beyond, we encourage you to lay claim to one of these raised beds.

For beginners to the pros in gardening
Never grown anything before? We will be glad to instruct. Are you physically challenged? The beds are within easy reach of someone in an assist chair. We hope that anyone who is willing to try, but doesn’t have access to a garden space at home, will be able to grow whatever they wish, in their raised bed garden.

Call 888-574-9472 and say, “I want to reserve my raised garden bed!”
The “GO” date is the week after Mother’s Day because we’re usually out of freeze danger by then. Most of the popular plants are warm-season, and the soil temperatures will be warm enough to quickly germinate seeds, and support the roots of picky tomatoes and peppers.

Tomatoes are the #1 vegetables planted in gardens
Some of the best performers for raised beds will have the words “bush”, “patio” or “dwarf” in their descriptions. Cherry tomatoes, or “Tommy-toes” are just as delicious as larger varieties, and they fit well in a raised bed. Don’t know what to plant? We’ll be glad to help you narrow the list. Some plants do well as companions, and others don’t. We can answer your questions.

We need more help and leadership
If you’re an old hand at gardening, but you don’t have a space to do it anymore, claim one of the beds for yourself. We also welcome your experience, in helping others who are just beginning.

Free water, help when needed and more are waiting for you
We’ll supply the water and instruction when needed. You supply the passion to grow something, and apply your energy, and “elbow grease” to make it a success! Of course, what you raise is yours to take home or trade with other gardeners who grew something different.

Yummy time and good eating time will be your reward for a summer of work
Remember, a garden is at its peak in the heat of summer. It’s growing, producing fruits, and being bothered by pests. Tending, harvesting, and protecting will be your job. Your due diligence, despite the heat and humidity, will keep your garden thriving and productive. Wise gardeners work early and late, during summer. A faithful gardener takes home the fruits of their efforts!

Conclusion
