Are you looking for a way to improve your pastures and add forages that increase soil health and livestock nutrition? We have the perfect option available for you.

The Aitchison GrassFarmer Drill combines the latest technology that improves germination while saving you time and money. This drill enables even seed distribution of forage mixes regardless of seed size. The special design enables you to plant the ideal combination of forage seeds to meet your goals with just one pass of the drill.

Drilling forages into permanent pastures, renovating thin, monoculture pastures, converting row crops to pasture, adding cover crops to extend your grazing period, or providing winter grazing - are great ways to improve your profitability. Not only do you add grazing options and reduce the need for hay, but you improve the health of your soils and livestock at the same time.

The best and cheapest forage a livestock producer can feed is grazed forages. The Aitchison drill is an effective way to get seeds in the ground and improve germination.

Many types of drills are on the market today. Technology and design are improving all the time. The Aitchison Drill is an innovative drill from New Zealand that offers innovative technology.

A unique sponge seed distribution system allows the smallest to the largest seeds to be evenly distributed. An inverted “T” boot, developed in New Zealand during the 70’s, attaches to a solid steel tube. The ideal design of this drill produces an ideal firm seedbed while blanketing the seeds with 1/8” to 1/4” of soil. Depositing the seed at the perfect depth, in narrow rows, with a shallow covering of soil maintains seed to soil contact within the row and retains soil moisture while resulting in a high percentage of germination.

Hooking to a three-point hitch, this piece of equipment is 7’ wide and requires a minimum 50 Hp tractor enabling the Aitchison Drill to be used efficiently on both small and large acreages.
